Most perpetrators of Domestic Abuse are men
- 1 in 5 women experience some form of domestic abuse in the course of their lifetime
- In 90% of cases children are present in the same room or nearby during an attack on their mother
- In Angus police deal with around 1000 incidents involving domestic abuse every year - that's about 20 per week or 3 per day - it is however widely believed that only about 20% of domestic abuse is reported!
